RiskIQ Signs First Channel Partner

IT
RiskIQ has announced it has signed its first European channel partner, Ignition Technology, as it seeks to promote its asset protection tool to protect brands across social media, mobile apps, web sites and internet forums. The web crawling technology complements existing security solutions by helping companies identify and protect against threats on their digital ‘attack surface’.

With more and more brands using social media, mobile apps, web sites and internet forums, there has never been a greater risk to a company and its customers through malware, defacement or impersonation.

Peter Ledger, Ignition Technology CEO says: “We were looking for new security, service led products to introduce to integrators, resellers, MSSPs and Cloud Providers. We heard about RiskIQ from our Silicon Valley representative who had seen its success with the major banks and insurance companies. For us, it is definitely one of the star products that we are taking to the channel.

“Because it is so unique it sits nicely side by side other security solutions, without aiming to replace them. It is not often that a totally new concept for a security product comes along and we are delighted that we will be taking it to market.”

The RiskIQ Merit Partner programme aims to open up its solution to a strong network of security-focused partners across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The RiskIQ partner model is split into three pillars – Merit, Community and Strategic – designed to support and reward partners based on the opportunity they can deliver for the business, rather than focusing on sales targets or tiered margins.

Trevor Crompton, European Channel Director of RiskIQ, said: “Companies can’t protect what they don’t know about, but with RiskIQ they have a continually updated view of their assets. We are operating in an entirely new field of security to solve a problem that many businesses are aware of but, until now, haven’t known how to tackle. We believe this presents a great opportunity for channel partners across Europe to open up new conversations with existing customers about their security requirements.

“We are looking for partners with good security expertise and a strong complementary vendor portfolio and who recognise the business opportunity that this different approach to security provides. We intend to build long term relationships that deliver mutual revenue opportunities and wholly satisfied customers.”

Most companies are unaware of up to 40% of their external assets, exposing them to threat across thousands of websites, mobile apps, social media forums, and external sources. RiskIQ can, in a matter of hours, produce a scorecard of a company’s digital health, and continuously scan for data breaches using the characteristics of a ‘virtual human.’ Up to now, most security screening has relied heavily on manual intervention and monitoring, but RiskIQ has automated a huge part of the process.

The new Merit partnership programme officially launches in April 2015, paving the way for a core network of European resellers to take advantage of this new opportunity.
