Rocom to Distribute Polycom’s OCS 2007 Handsets

Rocom has announced its distribution deal with Polycom for their new and range of handsets for Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007.

Designed to increase collaboration and productivity, the launch of Polycom’s OCS handsets follows Microsoft’s recent release of the OCS and Office Communicator 2007, which sees Polycom moving into new markets. The range includes four high definition, wideband voice over IP (VoIP) handsets: the CX100, CX200, CX400, and CX700 models.

From a Rocom perspective, the management team is preparing for the successful roll out of the OCS handsets via the implementation of a dedicated business unit; the primary aim of which is to help Microsoft distributors engage with the Microsoft reseller community.

Phil Hambly, Sales and Marketing Director at Rocom said, “We see this as a fantastic opportunity to further develop our working relationship with one of our top supplier partners while at the same time engaging with Microsoft, one of the worlds most respected brands. The strength of our existing relationship with Polycom, and our value add capability, has resulted in us gaining distribution status for the entire OCS handset range. We see this as a tipping point development and are confident it is right for all parties.”

Glynn Jones, Vice President EMEA Voice Sales, Polycom said, “Polycom’s OCS handsets deliver a high quality voice experience via a Microsoft-based interface that global users are familiar with. Working with Rocom, to bring this new range to the UK market, not only quickly and efficiently, but with great support, will ensure success. Rocom champions the value-add philosophy within the distribution chain. We are delighted to extend our relationship with Rocom to include this exciting new range.”
