ShoreTel Addresses Business Challenges

Telephony
ShoreTel has announced the availability of the cordless ShoreTel IP 930D DECT phone as well as enhanced diagnostics and monitoring capabilities for administrators via ShoreTel Director.

The ShoreTel IP 930D cordless phone is ideally suited for those needing a full telephony feature set along with in-building roaming capabilities. ShoreTel’s commitment to overall ease-of-use for the end-user through to the system administrator is unmatched. Unlike other DECT phones that only provide basic single line features, the ShoreTel IP 930D phone delivers the full feature set of ShoreTel IP desk phones, such as enterprise directory access and multiple line appearances.

“We selected the ShoreTel IP 930D phone because we have employees who are always away from their desks, but still need to stay connected,” said Kristopher Wilson, program manager, Anderson & Wood Construction. “The benefits we have seen are quicker response time, better phone call clarity, and mobility. I would definitely recommend DECT phones to other businesses that need mobility integrated into their land lines or need to communicate with roaming employees throughout their facilities. The call quality and clarity is fantastic.”

“ShoreTel gives resellers and customers an extensive choice of end points to meet their needs,” said Phillip Pexton, research analyst at Canalys. “This includes desk phones, and PC and mobile clients, providing a consistent user experience independent of location. The addition of DECT phones adds to its portfolio, especially in key verticals like healthcare, retail and manufacturing that require onsite mobility without cellular connectivity.”

Alternative cordless enterprise phones often sacrifice quality for mobility, however ShoreTel users can step away from their desk and continue managing incoming inquiries or monitor shared extensions. The solution offers generous talk time and standby times that can easily cover a full day of calls.

Additionally, the new diagnostic and monitoring capabilities within ShoreTel’s web-based system management application, ShoreTel Director, enables administrators to identify and resolve network issues to ensure voice and unified communications applications performance measures are met throughout an enterprise.

“The new Diagnostics and Monitoring capabilities in ShoreTel Director truly sets ShoreTel apart from the competition by giving your technical support group the information they need when they need it in a easy to understand format,” said Glen Liljeberg, IT manager, Village of Westmont.

The intuitive diagnostics and monitoring interface provides clear visibility across the system with relevant information consolidated and collected in an easy-to-use format. These performance reports can be generated from any location using a PC, Mac or iPad.

“Diagnostics and Monitoring is a critical component for all unified communications applications,” said Don Joos, senior vice president of business operations at ShoreTel. “This leads to faster resolution of network issues, which further lowers total cost of ownership.”
