Siemens Enterprise Communications name GM for EMEA and Asia-Pacific

Siemens Enterprise Communications has announced the appointment of Wolfram Fischer as the company’s general manager of Europe (excluding Germany), Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific operations. Fischer will be responsible for all direct sales, partner activities and business operations in these regions. Reporting to CEO Hamid Akhavan, Fischer will serve as a member of the senior executive team.

“Siemens Enterprise Communications is a market leader in Western Europe and we are very focused on the fast growth markets of Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific to solidify our global leadership position in Unified Communications,” Akhavan said. “Adding Wolfram to our team gives us an experienced, proven leader to drive growth and increase customer satisfaction.”

Fischer joins the company from Hewlett-Packard, with more than 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and business management including hardware, software, and IT solutions and services.

Most recently, Fischer set up and managed the professional services business for HP Software and Solutions in EMEA where he established a customer-focused and revenue generation oriented organisation. In his prior role, he successfully launched a relationship marketing program to improve mind share with top customers and partners. In this position and previous roles with HP, he was also instrumental in significant merger and integration activities, securing large outsourcing contracts and driving improvements in revenue and margins.

“Siemens Enterprise Communications’ record of innovation in UC, including the award-winning OpenScape Voice Application, is a strong platform on which to grow and expand market share,” Fischer said. “I look forward to leveraging my experience with leading customer-focused and results-oriented teams to help the company achieve even greater success in EMEA and Asia Pacific.”
