South West Communications Group Gives Further Backing to Prince’s Trust

South West Communications Group has pledged further support to the Prince’s Trust to add to the £30,000-plus it raised for the charity last year when taking part in their Million Maker fund raising scheme.

Million Makers is an annual drive that sees teams from across the UK compete against each other to raise the most money for the charity that helps young people into work, while also enhancing team-work, leadership and communication skills.

The Exeter-based telephony and data communications company won the race to raise the most money in their region in 2009. Having originally pledging to raise £20,000, they actually exceeded this total by more than 50% to raise £31,000. More than a third of this total was raised with a black tie ball at Sandy Park Stadium and the decision has been made to hold a similar event to raise further funds after South West Communications Group became a Prince’s Trust patron at the end of last year.

South West Communications Group’s managing director Harry Langley said: “In these current difficult economic circumstances, charitable revenue streams are drying up, which means ultimately our local vulnerable young people will suffer. Our sales director Sarah Flowers organised a fantastic ball last time with everyone having a great time and more importantly, a goodly sum of money was raised for local people through the Prince's Trust. Hopefully, with many local business people on the guest list, it will encourage them to take up support for the Trust as well themselves."
