South West Communications Group’s Hampshire Office Celebrates 20 Years

The Hampshire branch of South West Communications Group celebrates its 20th anniversary today.

The business telephony, network and data centre services provider set up its first branch in the region on August 14, 1989. Twenty years later, and Lynne Howard still heads up the Hampshire branch of the company.

Lynne set up the original branch office at Enterprise House in Southampton along with one engineer. The team quickly grew and took on more sales and engineering staff and moved to offices in The Avenue, Southampton before relocating to larger premises in Segensworth, Fareham some three years later.

In 2001, the group diversified into the provision of serviced offices and set up the Portchester Business Centre, in Castle Street, Portchester, where Lynne and her team now work from. They and several other businesses enjoy the services that come with the tenancy that a communications company can provide with a leading edge technical infrastructure and services.

Sales manager Lynne said: "I was originally taken on when South West Communications Group had won a large contract to provide support to a large local authority. Since then, we have won hundreds more contracts in this area and have established ourselves at the forefront of communications provision in this region. We are very proud of what we have achieved here and to have reached our 20th anniversary."

South West Communications Group, which has its headquarters in Exeter, celebrated its 25th anniversary last year. More than 120 people are employed by South West Communications Group to deliver and maintain its range of services to a wide variety of businesses across the UK, including telephony solutions, data networks, contact centres, WiFi and DECT mobility solutions, point to point microwave, call routing and network services, Internet services and business continuity solutions.
