The corporate golf day which took place in Warwickshire on the day of the Royal Wedding saw 120 business professionals from across the Midlands joining together for the Lily Mae Foundation in their quest to generate funding for SANDS (The Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity).
The firm based on Park Road in Ilkeston have provided IT support to Joseph Ash and their IT manager Mick Jackson for many years now, and after his family was directly affected by the birth of a still born baby, Lily Mae Jackson Nexsis Comms decided to pledge its support to him and his family.
The golf day offered support SANDS in their three core aims, which include, supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby, working in partnership with health professionals to improve the quality of care and services offered to bereaved families, and to promote research and changes in practice that could help to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.
Leon Braisby, Managing Director, at Nexsis Comms who offer a raft of services including business telephone systems, business data networks, and business mobiles, said: “Here at Nexsis we were shocked to find out that every day 17 babies will die of stillbirth or neonatal death.
“This is a statistic that is seeing no signs of decreasing, and behind each number is a family rocked to the foundations by the death of their baby. After hearing that one of our clients had been affected by this, we decided to offer our support and encourage other Derbyshire businesses to do the same. Nexsis Comms have supported this worthwhile charity in the past and will continue to do so in the future.”
