Swyx's Extends Office Telephone Functionality to Mobile Workers

IP telephony vendor Swyx has announced SwyxWare Version 6.10, the latest version of its software-based VoIP telephony, aimed at both SMEs and larger corporates.

New features include Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) with the SwyxMobile option that enables workers on the move to take advantage of important Swyx IP-PBX functionality they would normally only be able to enjoy in the office such as call forwarding, call recording and conferencing.

According to Senior Vice president of Sales and Marketing at Swyx, Ralf Ebbinghaus, “There is growing demand both from employers and staff for more flexible methods of working that blur the boundaries between the office and other locations. In turn, customers expect enquiries to be responded to quickly wherever the employee is. With SwyxWare Version 6.10, mobile workers can now be available to receive calls, just as if they were on an office-based telephone extension. In the same way, they can make outbound calls on their mobile, as if they are dialling from the office. When in the office they can either choose to always use their mobile, therefore eradicating the need for an office-based phone, or they may find it more convenient to switch to a deskphone, retaining the same extension number.”
