TalkTalk Business and Connected World Win Pontins Contract

Following a successful project with Britannia Hotels, the UK’s largest Next Generation Network (NGN) operator, TalkTalk Business and channel partner, Connected World have secured a new contract to provide a raft of network solutions to Pontins.

Hotel group Britannia, which also operates the popular Pontins brand, first turned to Connected World to deliver a fast and reliable network to connect Britannia’s 37 hotels with its call centre, data centre and national head office.

Utilising TalkTalk Business’ NGN and portfolio of product solutions, Connected World installed an Ethernet-based MPLS network – allowing Britannia to add new hotel sites as and when required. With it offering 7,000 rooms nationwide, the hotel chain had previously relied on an ASDL-based internet service that offered a slow and unreliable service with frequent drop outs.

Britannia’s robust and reliable internet service achieves speeds of up to 100MB, is future-proofed and underpinned by TalkTalk Business’ MPLS Management Portal which enables the company to effectively manage resources across all its sites.

Jamie Price of Connected World, said: “With Britannia priding itself on delivering excellent value for money, coupled with first class surroundings, it needed an efficient, robust and secure internet infrastructure that would serve all its operational and business needs.

“By working closely with TalkTalk Business we’ve been able to develop a tailor made solution that was delivered within extremely tight deadlines.”

Following this successful project with Britannia, Connected World will now work with TalkTalk Business to replicate those achievements by revolutionising Pontins’ network infrastructure. Self-catering specialist, Pontins first opened in 1946 and now operates five popular holiday camps across the UK.

Andy Hollingworth, director of wholesale for TalkTalk Business, commented: “We’re delighted with the approach to Britannia in partnership with Connected World and now look forward to working with Pontins to bring about a similar transformation.

“Providing the technology infrastructure to help future-proof businesses so that they can improve efficiencies and grow in the current climate is particularly rewarding.”
