TenTel Appoints Finance Director and Customer Director

Telecoms company TenTel has announced two senior appointments as the business gears up for rapid expansion in 2016.

Daniel Halliday, who has been with TenTel since 2014, has been promoted to Finance Director and Scott Mackay has joined as Customer Director. These appointments complete the company’s senior management team and follow its growth from just three staff to over 50 employees in under two years.

TenTel specialises in no contract and short-term contract telephone and broadband, a concept that has proved popular with the lettings market. The company recently moved to new premises in the Edinburgh area, creating 40 jobs as it continues to increase its customer base with over 1,000 customers joining every month.

Daniel Halliday joined TenTel as its third employee in April 2014. Since then he has seen the company go from strength to strength, and has been instrumental in securing over £2 million in start-up investment. Daniel’s new remit includes IT and software development, data and reporting, and acquisitions.

Prior to working at TenTel, he began his career with KPMG, training as a chartered accountant. He worked his way up through the company into management, dealing with transactions and restructuring across a variety of sectors before moving to TenTel.

Daniel Halliday says: “It’s been a great experience working with a start-up venture from the early stages, and seeing it go from being a good idea, to becoming a real challenger with the potential to disrupt the telecoms market.”

He continues: “We knew right from the start we had a fantastic concept, and it will be my privilege to continue to work with TenTel in my new role as the company enters a really exciting new stage in its development.”

Joining Daniel Halliday is Scott Mackay, who starts in the newly created role of Customer Director. He previously worked with letting agents and property managers as Group Marketing Services Manager at the Glasgow Housing Association, which will put him in good stead at TenTel, as will his experience in senior energy industry roles.

Scott Mackay says: “TenTel had been on my radar for a while, and I jumped at the chance to join such a innovative company.

“I want to see TenTel recognised in consumer polls as a top company for customer service. Broadband is an essential utility now, and we truly believe everyone deserves an affordable, reliable service that suits their lifestyle. By partnering with letting agents, we can offer live telephone and broadband the day tenants move into a new property.

“We don’t try to pull the wool over anyone’s eyes with confusing pricing systems, or hidden extras. Our flexible contract options and transparently priced packages have something for everyone. It’s a very exciting time for the company, and I’m looking forward to this next chapter for both myself, and for TenTel.”

Robert McKechnie, MD of TenTel concludes: “This is an important time of continued growth for TenTel and I’m delighted to welcome the new members of our team. Their input will be vital for our continuing success. I’m positive we’ve picked the right people to help the company thrive in this tremendously competitive sector.”
