TFM Aquire Globalwave Communications

Buckinghamshire based telecom provider TFM Networks has acquired internet network provider Globalwave communications (Waveworks). Waveworks, established in 2001, are specialists in Managed IP Networks and provide packaged telecom services to multi- site SME businesses.

Waveworks moved from operating primarily in website development and design to become a managed network provider and joined BT’s Collaborative Partner Programme in 2004 to provide internet network services to BT’s SME customers.

Stewart Yates, managing director of TFM, becomes head of the enlarged group. TFM chief operating officer David Heyes assumes the same role for the group and also becomes managing director of TFM. Matt King, technical director of Globalwave prior to the sale, joins the group board.

Both TFM and Waveworks operate their own enterprise core MPLS networks, with a promise to deliver innovative business class IT solutions underpinned by strong executive teams and excellent technical capability. There is a natural fit between both companies that will create synergistic benefits using their combined strengths to improve the customer experience.

Following the exciting acquirement, it will be business as usual for both companies who will continue to function under their own brands.

Yates comments on the acquisition; “Both companies recognise that this acquisition allows us to move to the next phase of business growth to protect our future and enable us to compete more effectively and win larger customers. Combining our strengths, we now have a single and incredibly strong business entity and we are all excited for our growth plans moving forward.”
