Tracktech launches eMERIT for BlackBerry smartphones

Cheltenham-based development company, Tracktech, has launched eMERIT, an application that enables UK-based users to process credit card transactions using their BlackBerry smartphones, wherever and whenever they are.

The eMERIT application for BlackBerry smartphones is fully scalable and is available to single users or corporate businesses that are connected through the BlackBerry Internet Service or BlackBerry Enterprise Server, without the need for pre-arranged merchant banking services to be set up.

eMERIT is able to process payment by any credit card and a bespoke transaction processing module (shopping cart) can also be deployed to allow the calculation of payments against specific products or services. The solution is completely whitelabelled, so corporate branding can be applied.

The solution represents many months of development work as well as a high level of resource commitment in terms of investment and back office infrastructure.

eMERIT has been through the Mastercard PTS Program, which is an extremely stringent, laboratory-based, accreditation program normally reserved for standard Process Data Quickly machines. This is the first accreditation of its kind on a mobile device.

The product is entering the market through direct sales plus resellers, distributors, service providers, dealers and IT partners.
