UK Launch of Open Source IP PBX

Uni-ta Technology, UK manufacturers of IP phones and IP PABX’s, has announced the opening of offices in the UK to market a new open source embedded IP PBX Communications System for Small and Medium sized Businesses.

The company says the following features are included as standard to provide a complete turnkey solution to meet customers’ demands on modern business communication. Uni-Ta’s Asterisk embedded IP PBX system Univox S800, is based on uClinux/Blackfin. By using state-of-the-art embedded technology, the IP PBX provides a solid, uniform platform for voice communications as well as data network communications. Offering rich IP PBX features such as customisable Auto Attendant & IVR

The product includes an intuitive web-based GUI, full support for SIP and IAX2 protocols and an excellent OSLEC (Open Source Line Echo Cancellation).

Uni-Ta Technology's UK’s Chief Executive James Murphy shakes off suggestions that they have an unfair advantage. "This product will revolutionise the market in communications both in terms of standard features and at an ‘all in’ price that will undercut any other product currently being sold.

Equivalent systems being marketed in their thousands will be matched only by their hundreds, helping company's make IP to landline and mobile calls, which will cost a fraction of their current call expenditure a reality, with their IP to IP calls absolutely free. Sooner rather than later the answer had to come from the east."

Uni-Ta says this is a ground floor opportunity and the company is actively seeking top quality communication distribution with a provable track record of high volume sales to SMB’s.
