Unified Comms is the Future for PBX says Gradwell

Peter Gradwell, Managing Director of Gradwell has told Comms Business Magazine he believes that the future for PBX systems is unified communication.

“For us that means extending the PBX functionality on to the mobile phone. The demand for a unified communications framework is becoming a real business priority as workforces become mobile and the next ‘generation-y’ employees embrace new phone hardware and ways of working. Many small and medium-sized companies work in non-traditional, virtual environments but still demand guaranteed connectivity and the same call quality as they're used to with fixed line. Recent statistics published by Telepo state that 51 per cent of organisations believe that UC capabilities will be standard by 2012.

To this end, we have just announced an exclusive partnership with Telepo to launch a Gradwell Hosted Unified Comms package. By integrating Telepo’s solution we have enabled SMEs to subscribe to the first comprehensive enterprise communication solution in the market, something previously exclusive to the very largest enterprises and only at a high price. The unique package offers customers a complete mobile telephony system with single number reach; enabling all the traditional functionality associated with office PBX systems to be available on mobile devices. At a glance, users can find out whether colleagues are taking calls, are away from their desk or are in meetings.

By integrating Telepo's solution, we have created a highly customisable solution which enables IT and network managers to unify their corporate communications landscape, lower costs and increase workforce productivity.”
