Union Street makes new board appointments

Union Street Technologies, the supplier of comms billing solutions, has appointed two of its senior executives to the company’s board of directors. Alper Kazaca is now Development Director and Paula Wright is Operations Director. The aim is to strengthen the company’s senior management team following the rapid expansion of the business over the last four years.

Alper has managed the Union Street software development team for the last four years and many of the exciting new product enhancements have been delivered under his expert guidance. He is responsible for the aBILLity product roadmap moving forward and is currently recruiting several extra developers in order to accelerate the innovation and functionality going into the product.

Paula has a strong background in operations and customer service. Prior to joining Union Street in April 2010, she was Operations Manager for technology company Garlik. Previously she was Head of Operations for Pipex Customer Services and Tech Support with over 350 direct reports. She has also held Customer Service roles with IBM and British Telecom. Since joining Union Street, she has implemented many new service initiatives including a customer service training programme which is currently in progress.

Since Union Street started direct marketing of its aBILLity billing solutions suite in 2008, the company has enjoyed fast growth, with multiple industry awards for its successful product development. The aBILLity billing platform is the industry de facto standard, recognised for its performance and flexibility. With aBILLity at its core, Union Street has developed a suite of applications to provide a total solution for billing, realtime analysis, fraud prevention, WLR3 integration and interfaces for accounts and CRM packages.

For Union Street, Tony Cook, Managing Director stated, “We have enjoyed enormous success through the worst economic recession in over 50 years. That success is due to the talent and strength of our people and it is only right that we should recognise the important contribution of two key department heads with these board appointments. The addition of Paula and Alper to our board strengthens our senior management structure and places it on a more formal footing. Their input at the highest level of company decision making will be invaluable.”
