VegaStream Link up Toshiba and Gamma Telecom

VegaStream, the developer of telephony media gateways, has announced that it has successful completed three-way compatibility testing between its Vega IP Gateway, Toshiba’s Strata CIX business communications systems and Gamma Telecom’s IPDirectConnect service. The agreement ensures channel partners wishing to connect customers’ Toshiba Strata platforms to Gamma’s pure IP network using a VegaStream Vega IP Gateway can be assured of seamless integration and rapid uptake of the service.

“Exhaustive testing was conducted between Toshiba, Gamma and ourselves and I am very pleased that the three solutions interoperated so well together,” said Steve Davis, VP Sales and Marketing, EMEA, VegaStream. “Channels and end users alike can be completely confident that there will be minimal disruption issues to the customer’s existing telephony services when deploying a joint solution from our three companies.

In addition, channels will receive a rapid return on investment by enabling customers to connect to the Gamma IPDirectConnect service simply and easily to achieve the cost and productivity benefits of IPT.”

“The Strata CIX was designed with flexibility in mind to enable simple migration to IP telephony and help enterprises become more efficient and productive,” said Tim Webb, General Manager, Toshiba Business Communications Division. “Supporting the technical innovations of VegaStream and Gamma Telecom makes that aim more accessible and provides our customers with a guaranteed and achievable path to IPT.”

“Our IP DirectConnect service is tailored for the enterprise and with the strengths of Toshiba and VegaStream, we can bring IP technology within their reach,” said Cem Ahmet, Marketing Manager, Gamma Telecom. “This inter-networking agreement offers channel partners a new low-risk, high value service to customers which can bring additional revenue streams.”
