XLN Telecom wins regional British Venture Capital PCM Award

XLN Telecom Ltd – the UK’s leading provider of telecoms services for small business – has been named the regional winner of the British Venture Capital Association Portfolio Company Management Award (BVCA PCM Award) for the best Private Equity Backed Team of the Year (mid-market).

XLN Telecom, which specialises in providing small businesses high quality, low-cost fixed-line, mobile and internet services, saw its revenues grow 36% in 2009, topping £54 million for the year. The company now has over 125,000 business customers across the UK.

The rapid growth of the business has been the result of the business’s strong management team, its industry leading technology platform, and ongoing product and services innovation. During 2009 the company completed the development and installation of an industry leading proprietary platform that allows seamless fast provisioning across multiple supply platforms and introduced its first mobile phone services to clients.

Christian Nellemann, founder and Group CEO of XLN, commented: “As a business, our goal is to deliver exceptional shareholder value by providing the best value products and services to small businesses at the most competitive rates in the market. Through the strength of our management team we now have a highly scalable business that can continue to deliver exceptional growth in the years ahead.”

The BVCA PCM Awards recognise and celebrate the managerial excellence shown by thriving and innovative British companies that are backed by private equity or venture capital. XLN Telecom now automatically qualifies for the national BVCA PCM Awards which take place in September 2010. This latest win for the company follows XLN Telecom’s founder, Christian Nellemann being named a winner in the 2010 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year London & South region awards.
