Yealink takes Global Product of the Year Award

MSPs
For the third year running Yealink has won the prestigious Product of the Year title awarded by, Internet Telephony, a specialist IP publication which serves 110 countries worldwide.

The company’s VP530N low cost business class videophone is the latest recipient of the award, and follows in the footsteps of the 2011 winner, the SIP-T38GN Gigabit colour screen IP handset and the previous year’s triumphant VP2009 videophone.

The VP530N was launched in July with Yealink UK describing it as more than simply a videophone, positioning the feature-packed model as a premium HD business class SIP handset equipped with video.

Announcing the 2012 award, Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC which publishes the magazine, commented: “It is with pleasure that we recognize Yealink with a Product of the Year Award. The editors of Internet Telephony have verified that VP530 displays quality and innovation while providing solutions to real business communications challenges. I would like to congratulate the team at Yealink for their commitment to advancing IP communication technologies.”

Steve Watts, head of new technology at Yealink UK, said the award further underlined the company’s research and development expertise which allowed it to produce affordable yet premium built and specified products. “To win this award for three consecutive years speaks volumes about the quality and innovation which typify Yealink products. It demonstrates the strength of an R&D led corporate strategy which ensures we can deliver products that anticipate and exceed market needs and expectations. The VP530N is indeed a prime example combining as it does leading edge technology, superb build quality and a price tag which is significantly lower than comparable models on the market.”

Mr Watts cited as an example of the VP530N’s market edge its ability to support three-way video conferencing which otherwise would usually only be available by also harnessing expensive multipoint control unit (MCU) technology. Certified compliant with a range of leading IP-PBX platforms - including those offered by Avaya, Asterisk, Broadsoft and 3CX – the model features a generous and highly responsive seven inch colour touch screen and offers key features such as first pick up call, hold and resume, transfer, idle to dialling, call switch and menu.

The Internet Telephony award is the latest in a line of commendations to be presented to Yealink. Last April the Internet Telephony Services Providers’ Association’s (ITSPA) named the SIP-T38GN as recipient of its Best VoIP Customer Premises Equipment award. The same model was also shortlisted the following month for Most Innovative Channel Product (Hardware) at the Comms Business Awards.
