Zyxel Announces Launch into Network Attached Storage Sector

Zyxel Communications has announced its first steps into the Network Attached Storage (NAS) market with the NSA 2400 chassis. The NSA 2400 will provide SMBs with centralised data access and storage readily accessible from multiple locations on the network. The device provides SMBs with a cost effective, dedicated integrated enterprise backup solution which will help them cope with the increasing amounts of stored information and rapidly changing legislation around data retention.

“The productivity and performance of SMBs is becoming increasingly reliant on the ability to store, organise and share business information more intelligently,” said James Walker, Product Manager, Zyxel. “The increasing amount of data storage legislation continues to add to the growing IT burden faced by SMBs. However, the solution announced today makes it possible to efficiently allocate storage whilst making the most of capacity and helps to minimise the strain placed on stretched IT resources.”

The NSA 2400 is a specialised fileserver that connects to the network and is optimised to store and share files across the business. Supporting up to four SATA drives with a capacity of up to two terabytes, it is possible for SMBs to implement low-cost high-density NAS. The NSA 2400 can be managed and configured via a web interface from any computer on the LAN, enabling administrators to monitor and diagnose issues with greater flexibility. In addition, the NSA 2400 can help improve overall network performance by taking on the file serving duties of the central server.
