Appointment is expected to accelerate adoption of networking security technology by SMEs across the UK
Zyxel Communications UK has appointed IT distributor Micro-Peripherals to distribute its entire range of networking products, including DSL routers, security, switching and wireless, in the UK. The selection is a strategic move for Zyxel and part of the company’s continued efforts to strengthen its position in the UK market by demonstrating a continued commitment to the channel and end users.
The appointment is expected to drive sales of networking security products in the UK SME market by giving companies affordable all in one security solutions through a trusted distributor, enabling SMEs to ensure their wired and wireless networks remain secure.
“Zyxel has seen a huge growth in the sales of networking solutions to the SME market, particularly within security, data infrastructure and wireless,” said Sarah Guy, UK Marketing Manager. “SMB resellers are continually looking for ways to develop and create more margin based sales and work with both distributors and manufacturers to develop more value add to their customers. Micro-Peripherals, was established in 1980 and is one of the oldest and largest IT distributors in the UK. With over 8,000 resellers in the UK, the company predominantly targets the SME market, a key sector for Zyxel. Micro-Peripherals will distribute a wide range of Zyxel products from their offices in Altham, Lancs and Basingstoke, Hants. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of DCC Plc, one of Ireland’s largest companies.
