Channel Telecom and Masergy Communications win major international MPLS order

Channel Telecom, the fast growing provider of business network services to the UK channel, has secured a network deployment order through partner Masergy Communications, Inc. Through Channel Telecom, end user Handicare, a producer of assistance aids for the disabled and elderly, will implement Masergy's global network platform across its three sites in the UK, Norway and the Netherlands for a three year contract worth £500,000.

Once implemented, Masergy's network platform will be Handicare's underlying core global network architecture. This will allow the organisation to deploy and centrally manage a range of business critical applications and UC/collaboration systems with performance guaranteed across the entire international network.

Mark Hatton, UK IT and Group Infrastructure Manager for Handicare stated, "Channel Telecom understand their market and are in tune with the demands of today's business. Having services in the past directly from the major blue chips, it is a rare thing to not only feel valued as a customer, but also be presented with a solution tailored to the business needs at a competitive price."

Serving customers throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia, Masergy leverages advanced transport technologies to deliver global Ethernet services across a native MPLS network. The company pioneered customer-control network services and the delivery of multiple services over a single network connection.

For Masergy, Richard Mathewson, Vice President Sales, EMEA, stated, "We are pleased to be working with Channel Telecom to deploy the first phase of an international state of the art network solution for Handicare. Our expertise is in providing managed, secure, virtualised network services to enterprises like Handicare which have complex needs across multiple locations."

Channel Telecom offers a wide choice of leading voice, data and converged UC network solutions for its channel partners to market to customers, allowing partners to offer customers the optimum UC network solution for their business communication needs. The company's track record in multisite installations is now well proven with large scale MPLS networks implemented for a number of customers, providing secure multisite connectivity for voice and data.

Commenting on the Handicare international contract, Clifford Norton, Managing Director of Channel Telecom said, "Delivering large scale network projects such as the Handicare MPLS requires technical skill coupled with top quality project management and customer support. We are delighted to be fulfilling this contract with our partner Masergy to implement a world class MPLS solution for Handicare."
