The winner of the competition to win a free MSc scholarship, funded by Mpirical and Middlesex University has been announced. The competition was used to mark the launch of the MSC in Mobile Telecommunication Engineering. Participants were asked to write a paper on how, through their study, it would help them contribute to telecoms and society in general.

Adriano Siqueira from the United Arab Emirates was announced the winner. On receiving the news Adriano said: "I have been thinking for a long time that an MSc in Telecommunications will provide the knowledge and academic credentials needed to progress my career in the industry. I believe I have a lot to offer the industry and support the growth in the telecoms infrastructure in my country. I have many ideas how mobile technology can be made more affordable and accessible to the people in the Middle East and the MSc can help me realise these.”

Graeme Green, Managing Director of Mpirical said: “We were delighted by the response to the competition, which far exceeded our expectations and made choosing the winner a difficult task. We wish to thank all those that entered the competition, and whilst you may not have won a scholarship, we would encourage you to apply as there is still time to join the January class.”
