Go Beyond Infrastructure

Distributor Mayflex is seeking out resellers who want to look beyond their cabling infrastructure activity towards increasing their portfolio, and hence their sales, with networking products.

The Birmingham based company reorganised its sales teams earlier this year to reflect their change in approach to their reseller channel and appointed Tony Mackenzie as Sales Manager for Networking.

“Our field sales force used to see channel partners and discuss our entire portfolio but since April we have formed two sales groups, Networking and Cabling Infrastructure, each with their own product and reseller support skills. Since then we have taken on five new sales people in to the Networking division alone.”

Mackenzie believes he can help resellers focussing on infrastructure to expand into networking products and that Mayflex has the right mix of product portfolio, training and support services to quickly make it work profitably for their channel.

“Our expertise lies in infrastructure and networking. We have best of breed products from vendors such as Extreme Networks and for the emerging IP video surveillance market we have a range of products from Mobotix. This all adds up to an amazing commercial package for partners.”

Mackenzie lists out what he believes makes Mayflex unique; “Free pre and post sales support including production of network schematics, system staging and on-site qualified engineers. Added to this are advanced warranty schemes which are over and above vendor warranties and a 6.00pm order cut off for next day deliveries – which are free of charge.

“Mayflex has been run very shrewdly for the last few years and as a result we are also able to provide flexible service level agreements and negotiable reseller credit terms.’
