Motorola launches Advanced Services

The Enterprise Mobility Solutions business of Motorola has announced a new focus on advanced services to help channel partners develop and expand their service offerings, while enhancing operational efficiencies for their customers.

The new Advanced Services team offers customers and partners a comprehensive suite of consultancy, design, integration and management solutions to help organisations to achieve a secure mobile infrastructure. The team is focussed on areas such as enterprise wireless LAN, VoIP and security services, and also offers a range of managed services designed to improve an organisation’s performance.

Chris Ranger, head of services for Motorola enterprise mobility solutions, EMEA, stated: “Our new end to end security services play a key role within our new advanced services portfolio. One key focus within the suite of security services is ensuring best practice, secure enterprise wireless LAN design and performance. Another key focus, which is particularly important, as the number of reported security breaches increases, is the provision of industry specific security assessments, such as for the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) in retail or hospitality, or for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) for healthcare.”

Partners of all sizes can benefit from working in partnership with the new Advanced Services team, complementing or filling skills gaps, to provide consultancy in critical and complex areas such as wireless security. By working closely with Motorola’s Advanced Services team, partners that do not have the resources to train their employees on every new development are able to keep abreast of emerging technologies and offer a diverse solutions portfolio to the market.

Many smaller resellers successfully sell wireless networking equipment to customers, but at the same time lack the skilled staff to carry out a detailed WLAN design or mandatory security assessments. Customers are increasingly demanding the provision of ongoing technical services, and the Advanced Services team will enable resellers to fulfil that business need, ensuring they can retain customers in tough economic times. Motorola has many years experience providing such services, and by collaborating with its reseller partners Motorola aims to help them close deals that might otherwise be out of their reach.
