In the second Comms Business Golf Society event of the year Channel golfers descended on Oulton Hall near Leeds for another fantastic day of networking and golf.
The weather gods were shining on the Channel last month as the society dodged the forecasted drizzle to play the excellent Oulton Hall. The 27-hole course was in great condition but some tight fairways and ensured players had to be on their A-game.
When the dust settled the winning team on the day consisted of Nathan Hall, Atrium Telecom, Justin Blaine, NTA, Wally Carson, 447 Services and Kevin Beswick, Atrium Telecom. They managed a collective score of 95 points which made them clear winners on the day.
In the individual competition we saw a familiar face take the top spot. Paul Taylor, Sales Director at Voiceflex, was two points clear (with 38 points) at the top of the leader board at the end of the day. Taylor saw off competition from Rob Downes, Nine Group and Anthony Black, Wavenet, to add another trophy to the cabinet.
The Nearest the Pin trophy went to Dean Gaunt, Invosys, who managed to strike his ball agonisingly close to the hole on the 25th. The Longest Drive competition was won by Jon Paget, Audio Productions, who hit a missile down the 16th fairway much to the dismay of his colleague, Andy Southern, who was leading at that point!
