Following the Christmas break there's been a lot of movement in the table, and the top eight teams have all broken the 1000 point barrier. Yes folks, wipe the holiday sleep from your eyes, it's time for football again.
Just because the Webmonkeys were taking a break to celebrate the birth of their lord, Humprey Bogart, on the 25th of December, it doesn't mean that football did.
Manchester United are now 6 points clear at the top of the premiership (grumble grumble) and Chelsea are a bunch of overpaid gits, not having won in three games. Obviously, all the goings on have affected the table, and there's been a lot of movement.
Yes, yes Ace999 are still top of table with 1156 points. Premiership tradition states that whoever is top of the table after the break wins the league, but the Webmonkeys don't like tradition as was proven at the office Christmas party when Webmonkey #3 snorted sambuca through his nose rather than drink it like a normal person.
Highest climber this week was Kerry Stone, with Mainline Kerrys, leaping 17 spots from 31st to 14th. Well done Kerry, obviously you didn't spend the holiday either sleeping or drunk (or both) like the rest of us.
Furthest faller this week was Phil Lancake and his team Phones 4 United, dropping 13 places to 27th. From what we understand he did get a lovely pair of socks for Christmas which more than makes up for it.
Highest scorer this week was Andrew Boden with Mainline Whizzers, scoring a massive 64 points. Good job Andrew, it's finally pushed you from 30th place where you've been sitting for the last four weeks, all the way to... 26th.
Lowest scorer this week was Chris Jones and his team Header. 24 points will not get you far in this world, well no more than two spots anyway. Let's hope you made a new year's resolution... to do better.
Hope you all enjoyed the break, but ho-hum, back to work.
