O2'S ERSKINE NOT INTERESTED IN VODAFONE JOB

Peter Erskine, the chief executive of O2, has said he would not be interested in running Vodafone even if he were offered the job by the mobile giant's incoming chairman Sir John Bond.As speculation mounts than Sir John will seek to make board changes once he takes the Vodafone chair next month, Peter said he had not been approached by O2's struggling larger rival.Peter, who is "fully enjoying" his expanded role within O2's new owner Telefoncia, said that he did not know whether Arun Sarin would survive until the end of the year. But speaking at a dinner in the City, he also expressed tacit sympathy for his beleaguered counterpart."I would be seething if my board had been as unsupportive and disparate as the Vodafone board," he said, referring to the recent boardroom rumpus at the world's biggest mobile operator.
