8x8 has appointed Joe McStravick as its new vice president of EMEA sales.
Answering directly to chief revenue officer Lisa Martin, McStravick will draw on his background of senior EMEA roles, including head of channel and strategic alliances at Zoom, managing director at BlueJeans, and head of professional services at BT Global.
“Joe’s background and pedigree of success speak for themselves. We’re gaining a true heavyweight here who can influence every aspect of our EMEA sales operations,” said Lisa Martin, chief revenue officer at 8x8. “What really stood out was that he understands the different needs of different verticals and territories, and we had a considerable conversation around how in France, regulatory compliance and data sovereignty remain key concerns, while in the UK and Ireland, businesses are prioritising cost optimisation alongside digital transformation.”
McStravick said, “From the moment I met the senior leadership team at 8x8, the company’s culture and vision stood out and the opportunity to shape and scale the EMEA go-to-market strategy, driving substantial growth was incredibly compelling. With a leadership team deeply committed to innovation, a strong product portfolio, and a thriving channel ecosystem, and, 8x8 is perfectly positioned for the next stage of expansion. I can say with confidence that this is only the beginning of something truly exciting.”
In addition to McStravick’s appointment, 8x8 has announced that Chris Angus, vice president, EMEA, will now oversee sales of CPaaS APIs across EMEA and the US, reporting directly to Martin, reflecting the growing importance of 8x8’s integrated contact centre, unified communication and CPaaS APIs platform.
“These changes reflect the changing nature of sales and how successful companies go to market,” said Martin. “Angus has been a powerhouse and vital part of our success in the past so I’m excited to see what he achieves with CPaaS as the team aligns closer to sales.”
The appointments follow the recent unveiling of the next evolution of the 8x8 brand.
Additionally, 8x8 recently announced the 8x8 Platform for CX, which unites contact centre, unified communications and communication APIs to help organisations connect customers and teams globally, enabling CX and IT leaders with AI-powered performance and insights to make smarter decisions and drive lasting business impact.
