The Sunderland-based business management specialists RTC North has opted for a new five-figure Mitel phone system to operate on a newly installed data infrastructure, also supplied by Advantex.
The standalone system will plug into the benefits for internet connectivity to provide low cost, fast and reliable telecommunications services for 70 users at RTC’s Loftus House head office on Colima Avenue.
With future growth anticipated, the new system will also provide reliable connectivity to other RTC sites across the UK along with remote tele-workers.
It will also improve the recording and reporting of customer calls for quality control and training purposes.
Working with school children through emeritus professors to laboratory-dwelling scientists, RTC North provides consultancy, education and support for international trade and network building.
Advantex, which will provide an aftersales package of support, designed the Mitel platform to be upgraded and expanded easily to accommodate future growth and additional telephone capacity.
This latest contract comes as the Follingsby Park-based network and infrastructure specialist is seeing its broadband-based phone business grow on the back of demand from customers across the UK requiring high tech VoIP systems and support.
In the last 12 months, new IP telephony work has accounted for more than 25% of Advantex’s £6m turnover.
With plans for growth and investment in new technologies, the firm is ramping-up to bring on-board and support in excess of 8,000 new hosted extensions by 2017.
Michael Ball, IT manager, who is responsible for telecoms provision, said that IP would improve quality and services provided to customers.
