The prestigious event, which takes place at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange on Friday 11 March, brings golf fans together to celebrate the achievements of Scotland’s golfers and golf clubs from the past 12 months and has grown into one of the most eagerly anticipated nights of the year in the country’s golfing calendar.
Annodata is returning as a headline sponsor for the third time, having sponsored the ceremony in both 2011 and 2012. The event has generated almost £50,000 for the Scottish Golf Charitable Trust over the past two years through its fundraising activities, attracting more than 600 guests on each occasion.
Annodata supports a wide variety of businesses and organisations across the UK, providing a range of managed services including unified communications, IT, print hardware and software solutions. Working with clients in both the private and public sectors, the company boasts a number of golf clubs among its 4,000 customers, including Scottish Golf.
Dan Rhoda, Annodata’s Managing Director for Scotland, commented: “We are delighted to return as a sponsor of Scottish Golf Awards, giving us a chance to celebrate what has been another successful season of golf at all levels of the sport. Both golf and Scotland play an important part in our business and we have worked hard in recent years to extend our footprint and reach to better support our Scottish clients. The awards ceremony is always a great occasion and we look forward to celebrating with our clients on the night itself.”
Eight-time Solheim Cup player and former Women’s British Open champion Catriona Matthew will become the first female recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, while a number of the game’s leading names are in contention for the coveted Player of the Year accolade, including Scotland’s WGC winner Russell Knox, Seniors’ major champion Colin Montgomerie, as well rising amateur stars Ewen Ferguson and Shannon McWilliam.
Hamish Grey, Chief Executive of Scottish Golf, added: “Bringing a headline sponsor on board for the Scottish Golf Awards highlights the growing popularity and success of the event in recent years. We are very grateful to Annodata for their sponsorship and look forward to raising more funds for our charity’s worthy causes, which include environmental, education and participation projects within golf.”
