Business look to e-commerce to deliver them from recession

While the current economic climate is forcing businesses to streamline their operations, the business and professional services sector is looking to e-commerce business management to bring it through the recession.

New research from BT Business has found that nearly half (40%) of businesses said that e-commerce has had an important impact on their business during the recession while 37% said that mobile devices have freed their business.

Furthermore, over half (59%) of business and professional services companies said they are prioritising marketing to customers and clients through the use of new technology.

Chris Lindsay, general manager, business applications at BT Business, comments “There has never been a better time for technology to come to the fore and prove its worth. If you take our Business Applications division, this was launched at a time when the UK was entering the recession as a way for businesses to streamline their business operations. SaaS solutions are becoming more and more mainstream while enabling businesses to reduce operational costs. Our portfolio of Business Applications includes a range of mobile solutions, which enables businesses to work more productively on the move.”

Lindsay continues, “We have online SaaS solutions which help businesses take control by giving the right information, insight and tools to help market, sell and service customers better.”
