This comes on the back of a recent Orange Mobile Phones directive to dealers operating outbound call centres to record all voice calls for audit purposes due to a number of customer complaints.
A source at Retell said, ‘Any company conducting business over the telephone and especially where offers are made and contracts agreed should be recording their calls. We find it incredible that they don’t given the fact that products like our encrypted call recording software start at only £200 per desk’
Retell issued a note of caution to dealers recording calls directly to Windows Media Player and the like, ‘Calls recorded by this method create large wav files which will rapidly use hard drive space and because they are not encrypted may not be admissible as evidence in court’.
