CityFibre adds 180k businesses for partners with Plymouth network enablement

CityFibre has further increased its service-ready network footprint to businesses and channel partners with the enablement of its full fibre network in Plymouth. Currently a total of 29 towns and cities including more than 180,000 near-net businesses are now serviceable and available to partners.

The latest addition is part of CityFibre’s steady expansion of full fibre networks available to the channel as the business continues its up to £4bn Gigabit City Investment programme, a rollout targeting up to 8 million homes and business in over 100 UK towns and cities.

CityFibre’s rollouts have continued at pace throughout the Coronavirus crisis at the request of the UK Government, which declared telecommunications infrastructure as critical to continue to allow both society and the economy to function and to enable rapid economic recovery when the crisis is over.

Full fibre services are widely regarded as the ‘gold-standard’ technology choice for business connectivity. In the wake of the Coronavirus crisis, full fibre infrastructure is expected to play a critical role in underpinning the recovery and long-term success of businesses and the UK economy as a whole.

Andrew Wilson, CityFibre’s Head of Wholesale said: “Through the recent crisis, we have been working more closely than ever with our channel partners to ensure that they and their customers are fully supported at this difficult time. As we begin to look to the longer-term, it's critical that we continue to rapidly expand our network footprint, enabling our partners to bring the transformative benefits of full fibre to even more businesses as quickly as possible. Underpinned by future-proof digital infrastructure, it is these businesses that will help drive the UK's economic recovery."
