Now, Scottish organisations can leverage national purchasing power but retain all of the benefits of dealing with a local, Scottish company who are based on their doorstep”.
He continued, “Very often, national contracts are won by organisations based outside of Scotland who do not have the local presence or understanding to properly support their clients north of the border. In this case both KCom and Procurement Scotland are to be praised for facilitating what is in effect the best of both worlds for Scotland’s public sector. Coming at a time when budgets are tight we can now offer real value for money whilst retaining a local service organisation in tune with their needs.”
