Computer 2000 Appoints Earl to Head Microsoft Business

Computer 2000, the UK arm of Tech Data, has appointed Dwayne Earl as Microsoft Business Manager, strengthening its software management team and marking the beginning of new and significant campaign that will see the company place increased emphasis on the development of its software business.

Earl has been with Computer 2000 for just under seven years, most recently as Business Manager for Servers and Storage. During his two years in this role he has been instrumental in driving significant growth for Computer 2000’s server and storage sales – particularly through the HP TopConfig programme.

Commenting on Earl’s appointment, General Manager of the Software business unit, James Reed, says: “We are absolutely delighted to have brought Dwayne in to take up this vitally important role within out specialist software business unit. Microsoft is a key vendor partner for Computer 2000 and it’s vitally important that we place an appropriate degree of focus and emphasis on managing and developing our Microsoft business. With his extensive experience of high value solutions and in-depth knowledge of our business, Dwayne is ideally placed to help us achieve our goals in this market.”

Earl says he is looking forward to the new challenge that heading the software division’s Microsoft business will bring. “This is an exciting opportunity as the potential to grow our business with Microsoft and in the specialist software division as a whole is considerable. I have seen the value side of the market from the hardware side and that experience will, I am sure, prove to be useful in helping me to understand and meet the needs of our software reseller customers.”

Computer 2000 is planning to make further significant investments in its software business over the coming year, with a view to delivering an even higher level of service to customers and further developing and enhancing its licensing tools and overall value proposition in the software market.
