The team of 40 Daisy Wholesale employees has smashed its target raising £6,235 for Diversity Role Models, a charity that tackles homophobic and transphobic bullying in schools across the nation. With Gift Aid contributions included, Daisy Wholesale raised an overall sum of £7,800.
Terry O’Brien, Managing Director at Daisy Wholesale comments: “I never expected it to be an easy challenge and in fairness I didn’t really know what to expect, but it was far harder than I had considered.”
The total trek took a total of eight hours for the team to make it up and down via the Watkins track, which is renowned to be the hardest route.
“The final 250 metres was particularly difficult with a steep incline with near sheer drops, especially in high winds and torrential rain. We have all suffered aches and pains, but the sense of achievement amongst the group definitely shone through. Coupled with the amazing funds that we have raised for such a worthwhile charity, I feel extremely proud and thankful to all who took part in the climb itself, as well as the organisation. I want to also say a massive thanks to everyone who donated.” O’Brien continues.
