Dealers viewed the new modular IP Office 500 communication server and learned the many benefits of enhanced Version 4.0 IP Office software, at a Manchester road show.
James Dawson from Trent Communications in Burton-on-Trent believes the new Avaya solutions represent a major step forward and confirmed: “I can think of a massive amount of our customers that have been looking to upgrade and will go straight for the IP Office release 4.0 software now, particularly regarding the functions of IP phones and soft consoles. A lot of the voicemail benefits will also be very useful.”
He added: “Avaya’s IP Office 500 looks a step up from earlier versions and with its black re-styling is very impressive. It already looks very flexible in terms of general design which will benefit both dealers and customers.”
The specially invited audience heard from Avaya’s IP Office Product Manager Philippe du Fou who talked about the IP Office software’s enhanced SIP capabilities. In addition, improved call handling and usability has been combined with new remote diagnostics, as well as increased mobility through multi-site hot desking. Avaya’s IP Office release 4.0 software is available in two versions - the Standard edition designed for small businesses, serving up to 32 users and the Professional edition allowing companies to take advantage of enhanced mobility and multi-site networking, supporting up to 270 users.
He described the IP Office 500 communication server as a more affordable and flexible IP office platform which benefits from increased IP telephony capacity and a modular design. The system can be wall mounted or located in a 19 inch rack.
