EE has rolled out a dedicated 5G standalone (5G SA) mobile network for Wembley Stadium.
Football fans attending England Women’s UEFA Nations League match against world champions Spain later this month will be the first to experience the enhanced in-stadium connectivity.
“The Lionesses have made history with their ground-breaking performances on the pitch, and now we’ve made history off it with the launch of the first 5G standalone network at Wembley Stadium,” said Marc Allera, CEO at EE.
This 5G SA deployment is part of EE’s continued refinement of its network experience at the stadium, having recently re-signed a multi-year partnership with Wembley.
Having launched its 5G standalone network in September 2024, EE’s new technology is already available to more than 21 million people – one third of the UK population.
