Entanet Achieves Certification for Cyber Essentials Scheme

Entanet has achieved independent certification under the government-backed Cyber Essentials scheme. The programme helps organisations protect themselves against common cyber attacks. With the GDPR deadline approaching in May and threats from ransomware and other forms of malware continuing to grow, it is more vital than ever for the company to demonstrate that it takes digital security seriously, said Entanet's Head of Products, Paul Heritage-Redpath.

“Achieving this certification is part of our commitment to delivering excellence for our channel partners. Security is top-of-mind for organisations of all sizes, and will only be a greater concern as we move into 2018 and GDPR compliance.”

Entanet began its certification journey in June 2017. The process has involved a review of its policies, the completion of a searching questionnaire and an external penetration test.

“Only this month Ofcom refreshed its guidance, requiring all communications providers to take appropriate measures to manage risks to security, and the robust external assessment process of Cyber Essentials means that Entanet's partners can have confidence in us as their wholesale provider,” added Paul.

Achieving the certification is also a significant step towards Entanet’s commitment to achieving ISO 27001 in 2018.
