This follows Exertis’ own Information Assurance for Small and Medium Enterprises (IASME) Gold qualification and their recognition as an accredited certification body of IASME. Four of its professional services team are qualified as assessors to carry out audits. Exertis will offer a packaged service that delivers three accreditations: Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus and IASME Gold at a fixed cost of £1,800.
Jason Hill, Exertis sales director, security said, “Cybersecurity remains a key issue for businesses. It’s essential that companies have the right defences in place to protect against today’s threats and take steps to mitigate against potential data breaches. SMEs are particularly vulnerable as they often don’t have the necessary resources or expertise to minimise the risks. In addition, more and more companies are looking for their suppliers to have a recognised cyber security certification before engaging with them, so it’s becoming increasingly important, particularly with GDPR now in force.”
Exertis accessors can provide the audit for the end user with the opportunity for the reseller to sell additional services and solutions if one of their customers fails the audit.
Cyber Essentials is a government-backed, industry supported scheme to help organisations protect themselves against common cyber attacks and show that they have taken precautionary steps. IASME governance demonstrates that a company has prepared for the introduction of GDPR by focusing on how data is collected, maintained and protected. Assessors need to have completed a GCHQ-certified training process with IASME, an accreditation body of the National Cyber Security Centre.
