In a recent A10 Networks’ Application Intelligence Report (AIR), the company highlighted the rise and complexity of cyber-attacks, and the careless attitudes of employees who unwittingly introduce new threats to their businesses. Sixty per cent of IT decision makers in their survey said they expected the volume of DDoS attacks to increase in 2018, whilst fifty-five per cent of employees reported not knowing what a DDoS attack was and eleven per cent not knowing whether they had been a victim of an attack. Responsibility for app security was also highlighted as an issue.
Whilst implementing the right infrastructure and managing defences against these threats are important, resellers also have the opportunity to help their customers to focus on educating employees on security threats. Ninety per cent of IT decision makers in the AIR survey maintained that employees need better education on security best practices.
