Working in conjunction with Sunderland College, the scheme has already opened up employment opportunities for over 40 young people. In addition, Fusion has developed a strong corporate social responsibility approach which involves employees supporting various local fundraising and volunteering activities. A key part of this programme is a partnership with Highfield Community Primary School which has seen the company donate over £40,000 to support the school’s music and reading initiatives and Fusion staff spending time with pupils.
Sarah Burns, Head of Site at Fusion Sunderland, said: “Everyone at Fusion is very proud of what we have achieved over the past 10 years. Aside from operating as a successful business and seeing tremendous growth at the site, Fusion has worked hard to ensure the contact centre is a vibrant and exciting environment and somewhere our employees love to work.“
Angela McQue, Fusion employee who joined the business 10 years ago, added: “I have been with Fusion since the very beginning and have enjoyed being a part of its growth and success. Fusion is a great employer and really looks after its staff – everything from at-desk massage to monthly prize draws. I even encouraged my Mum and daughter to come and work here and they love it too. My daughter has just secured a full time position following her completion of the 2011 / 12 apprenticeship programme.”
