Roberson will be responsible for sales and marketing strategy driving the growth of HTC product portfolio and brand positioning in the UK and Ireland. Assuming his role in October, Roberson will succeed Jon French, whose promotion to the role of Vice President Sales & Operations for HTC EMEA was announced in April.
“I’ve known Phil for a number of years and am absolutely thrilled he is now joining our HTC team,” said French. “HTC has seen tremendous growth over the past couple of years by delivering innovative and intuitive products built with consumers in mind. Phil’s shrewd negotiating skills and experience in driving product strategy make him the top man for the job of further establishing HTC as the leading smartphone brand in the UK and Ireland.”
Prior to his role at Everything Everywhere, Roberson was Head of Terminals and Operations for T-Mobile.
HTC opened the doors to its new European and UK headquarters based in Slough last week. Named third most valuable mobile phone company, HTC witnessed 93 percent revenue growth in 2010. HTC smartphone sales across EMEA jumped 67 percent year on year in the first quarter of 2011, according to Canalys.
