The event was played as an individual stableford competition with 3/4's of players handicaps allowed. The winner of the event was Stevie McCullum, Director at Tiger Communications who picked up 32 points of a 3/4 handicap of 8. Stevie was chuffed to bits to be the first name to appear on "The Channel Cup" and he looks forward to defending his title in June when the society meets again, this time at Hatfield.
Event sponsor Clifford Norton of Frontier Voice & Data came second also with 32 points beaten to first place based on a poorer inward nine holes. And in third place was Comms Business Publisher, Miles Bossom who picked up 31 points of a 3/4 handicap of 18.
Other winners on the day were Tim Holland of Adept Telecom who won the nearest the pin with an impressive shot over the famous Silvermere lake leaving his ball just a yard or two away from the hole. Philip Knight of Fused Group won the longest drive with a monster of a drive which could not be matched by the other 39 hopefuls.
