The broadcaster’s move to cloud-based voice services comes following a review of its business continuity strategy. The Chinese Channel’s legacy ISDN and physical PBX voice solutions did not fulfil the organisation’s requirements for flexibility and disaster recovery.
The Hosted Telephony service will be run over Exponential-e’s robust carrier-class network. The Chinese Channel’s call centre staff and existing and potential subscribers will benefit from the new voice solution with enhanced call capacity management, hunt groups and incoming and outgoing calling plans.
The European television channel plans to leverage the hosted voice service to manage viewer competitions and interactive broadcasts in the future. The solution has been designed to scale up as the organisation migrates from its legacy voice services.
Jonathan Madden, IT Manager at The Chinese Channel comments: “As an organisation we needed to increase our flexibility and improve our business continuity. This formed our decision to move from physical to hosted voice communications. Exponential-e was the perfect partner for this. We now have a complete end-to-end voice solution and importantly, an end-to-end SLA. The way the platform is designed means that we can easily use it to manage, for example, viewer competitions in the future.”
“Exponential-e is proud to be part of The Chinese Channel’s transition to cloud-based voice communications, and we’re excited about the broadcaster’s future plans to leverage its Hosted Telephony solution for their viewer competitions,” comments Mukesh Bavisi, Managing Director at Exponential-e. “We’re increasingly seeing more organisations making a move to Hosted Telephony to improve business continuity and it clearly highlights that the benefits of Cloud can be found beyond infrastructure,” Bavisi adds.
