Kcom raise £60k for charity

MSPs
Employees at KCOM Group have scaled the highest mountains and one has even cycled the equivalent of the Tour de France to raise an impressive £60,000 in the last twelve months for Charity Partner, Sparks.

People from across the business have embraced and supported the charity with a wide range of fundraising events, ranging from the Three Peaks Challenge to Skydiving. The most recent fundraising activity involved a project manager undertaking a week of gruelling training with the Royal Marines and Navy.

Sparks is a leading children’s medical research charity dedicated to funding pioneering research for a range of conditions affecting babies, children and mums-to-be. Currently, over 3000 babies in the UK don’t make it to their first birthday; the aim of this partnership is to help change this and raise funds for research.

Julian Hare, Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager at Sparks, says: “The partnership with KCOM Group has been a great one. They’ve come up with so many different and creative ways to fundraise, such as their Charity Golf Day, swimming across the River Humber and taking part in the Great North Run. They are already well on their way to reaching their £100,000 target, which will really help us and our key research areas.”

KCOM Group has a long standing commitment to fundraising, having raised over £300,000 during the last seven years through their Charity Partner programme. Each new Charity Partner is voted for by employees and the organisation supports them for two years, always aiming to smash the previous fundraising target.
