Based in Hampshire, England, Gibbons brings more than 20 years of channel experience in IT and data management. Aligning to Cohesity’s global strategy, Gibbons will work in tandem with worldwide teams to help partners maximize benefits from Cohesity’s recently expanded partner program. The program is focused on helping partners increase profitability while offering greater value to customers who are looking for modern backup and data management solutions across the region.
Gibbons joins Cohesity from Commvault where he was distribution channel director, EMEA, for five years. He also held other channel-focused roles with the vendor, including running the company’s UK program management. Prior to this, he worked at Computer Associates, and his initial foray into IT sales was with the distributor Computer 2000, a former subsidiary of Frontline, and then with Surrey-based Unix and network equipment distributor, Ilion Group.
“Cohesity is an exciting company to join right now,” said Gibbons. “Its disruptive data management technology solves age-old enterprise issues around data silos and fragmentation. The company has achieved a 100 percent year-over-year increase in software revenues and I’m excited to play a key role in driving the next wave of success for the company and for our customers and partners.”
“In EMEA, customers across a host of verticals are looking for modern software-defined solutions that finally make it easy to back up, manage, and extract value from data,” Gibbons added. “I’m excited to develop partner relationships that will enable us and our joint customers to benefit from Cohesity’s one-of-a-kind technology.”
“Martin has proven success developing a high-performing EMEA distribution and partner organisation and consistently delivering strong results,” said Dirk Marichal, vice president, sales EMEA, Cohesity.
“It’s a great time for Martin to join our EMEA leadership team. Given that he possesses deep knowledge of the data management sector, I expect he will have an immediate positive impact on our business. We are thrilled to have Martin on board.”
