As a member of the Dell OEM Technology Partner programme since 2014, Milestone is familiar with Dell’s capabilities and was looking for a flexible technology provider which could offer a tailored solution to support its software. Milestone chose Dell OEM Solutions because of the breadth and depth of its technology, Dell’s strong track record and reputation within the Surveillance and Security industry, and Dell’s global presence.
Milestone’s digital video solutions are designed to create infinite scalable, multi-site implementations, which manage risks, protect people and assets, optimise processes and reduce costs. Dell has certifications and reference architectures with Milestone supporting a variety of Dell Server, Storage and Networking solutions that scale to meet the bandwidth and retention times needed. As part of their partnership, Dell configured the Dell R730XD to host the recently released Milestone Xprotect Corporate 2016. A high performance, high storage density platform, the Dell R730XD has been calibrated to intake up to 700 1080p camera feeds, recording at a 3.1 Gbit/s throughput, with a playback at 310Mbit/s with zero frame loss. Designed to represent a live IP Camera environment, in a controlled test lab, platforms can be calibrated to their maximum sustained system performance and application operation.
Another key benefit of this collaboration is that customers are able to meet with Milestone and Dell specialists to strategise, architect, validate and build solutions at the Dell IP Video Platform Design and Calibration Lab based at the Dell Customer Solution Centre in Limerick, Ireland. This enable the joint Milestone Dell OEM customers proof-of-performance, giving them total trust in the solution.
