MLL Telecom will gain storage space and hosting facilities in Firstnet’s 20,000sq ft. secure, tier 3 data centre in Leeds. Originally built to store records for the NHS, the data centre will now be part of MLL Telecom’s resilient core network.
The partnership will create new revenue opportunities for MLL Telecom by enabling the managed network services provider to offer cloud and colocation services to its own customers, while Firstnet will stand to benefit by leveraging MLL Telecom’s business portfolio including HSCN and PSN connectivity.
Commenting on the partnership, Jason Beresford, Chairman, Firstnet said: “We have created a strategic partnership with MLL Telecom to initially have a point of presence in our datacentre, this is turning out to be a fantastic opportunity for both companies. Via MLL Telecom, we can offer our clients direct access to the Health & Social Care Network as well as many other carriers. In return MLL Telecom now have new product lines and a world-class data centre from which to deliver Cloud and Colocation services to their own customers. This isn’t just like a standard reseller arrangement, it is a true partnership“.
“This partnership presents a fantastic opportunity for both ourselves and Firstnet,” said Rob Hayward, Director of Business Development and Partnerships, MLL Telecom. “Many of our customers today are looking to move their services into the cloud and rid themselves of their own data centres, reaping business benefits in the process. This is the perfect opportunity for us to expand our own service portfolio to offer a value-adding solution that will appeal to our customer base. We are excited to be working with Firstnet to deliver these new services, as well as offer Firstnet customers access to a wide array of connectivity options.”
