n2s appoints commercial and finance leaders

Ben Hirst promoted to commercial director and Sarah Goddard hired as finance manager.

n2s has announced the appointments of Ben Hirst as commercial director and Sarah Goddard as finance manager.

Hirst (pictured) steps up from his role as group commercial manager. He has a background in IT asset disposal and equipment lifecycle management, and will be responsible for all n2s revenue streams. That includes data centre decommissioning, copper cabling granulation, technical services, and IT asset reuse and remarketing.

He joined n2s in 2009 as a warehouse operative. Since then, he has held management responsibility for the company’s warehousing, recycling, engineering, purchasing and sales operations.

Hirst commented, “I am proud to have been promoted to commercial director and am highly motivated by the increased responsibility this brings as the company continues to expand and grow market share.

“I am excited by the substantial opportunities that lie ahead for our business, our dedicated and talented workforce, and our valued customers.”

Goddard’s career in finance spans roles at a family business and Cambridge-based computer firm, as well as a stint as a senior financial analyst at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

She said, “I am delighted by the opportunity of working closely with colleagues across all departments and to be supporting a highly receptive senior management team who value the strategic role that sound financial management plays throughout the entire business.

“I’m also excited by what we do as a service business by making a positive difference to the environment and supporting our customers in meeting and achieving their ESG objectives and commitments.”

Rob Bolton, CEO, n2s, added, “Having Ben and Sarah on board in these two very key positions is testimony to their proven career track records and abilities. Ben knows n2s and the business of IT asset disposal and lifecycle management inside out which gives me total confidence in his new role as commercial director. His career trajectory at n2s highlights how the company supports and rewards hard work, ability and results.

“Equally, Sarah’s wide and varied experience as a finance manager in a cross section of industry sectors brings new vision and best practices to n2s, ensuring the smooth running and efficiency of our financial operations as we continue to grow.”

n2s is a sustainable technology lifecycle management solution provider. The company refurbishes, remarkets and recycles around 250,000 IT devices and components each year with none of the equipment processed being wasted. In the past 12 months n2s has securely sanitised 30,000 data bearing devices, refurbished and resold 4500 servers and recovered 200 tonnes of copper from telecoms infrastructure.
